The Bean Rock lighthouse is one of the well known lighthouses in New Zealand which was lit on the 24th of July in 1871 and constructed in 1870 this unique looking lighthouse took 8 months to build and was at the cost of $2,762, the light was powered by ‘kerosene’ there were eight lighthouse keepers around 1971 to 1912, which are Hugh Brown (1871 - 1890)(First lighthouse keeper), James William Nicolson (1890), John Wheeler (1890 - 1896), Edward R. Wilson (1896 - 1900), Alexander McKinlay (1900 - 1906), William Colley (1906 - 1909), James Anderson (1909 - 1911) and finally Frederick Woodbury (1911 - 1912).  

This Lighthouse is named (or called) after the master of HMS Herald. His name is Lieutenant P.C.D Bean, this person helped to carry out the first survey of Waitemata Harbour in 1840. There is also a Maori legend.

This lighthouse wasn’t the most popular place to work, the first keeper Mr. Brown (Hugh Brown) must have liked this lighthouse and was willing to work there,  the reason why he liked this lighthouse was because he had stayed there for more than 10 years (19 years)!. He liked that he cleaned it by scrubbing all the rust and sweeped the ground. Around the time he didn’t work there he was earnt $150 each year!

You can find this lighthouse at Mission Bay in Auckland to maori people it is known as the Te-Toka-o-Kapetaua’s (Kapetaua’s rock) for the memory of Kapetaua.

Today we made rock cakes we needed

Flower, Chocolate, Sugar, Cream, Oil, One Egg and Chocolate Sauce.

Materials needed.

A bowl, A big spoon, Plastic Scraper, Trey and a Rack.

With all there's ingredients we have made Rock cakes.

Step 1. Put in 1 and a half cups of flower.

Step 2. Add 1 half of sugar

Step 3. Add 1 half of cream and 1/4 of oil.

Step 4. Add one egg.

Step 5. Mix it well.

Step 6. Put it in the oven and turn it up to 180% then leave it for 15m.

Then it will be all done and ready to eat.

Me and my group has been working on a Presentation that shows information about M&M's.

We have been working on this for almost two weeks and we have finely found enough facts and information to but this together.

We have provided interesting facts about M&M's and some that you might not know about.

There is a slide that we have made that copiers M&M's with Smarties, There is a list of things that are Similar and Different things that relate to M&M's and Smarties.

Me and my group has put in our personal thoughts that we had first thought about M&M's then we research.

Tech Food craft - Kanye

At tech for food craft me and my group has made some quish this is what we needed: 

Pastry, 6 eggs, Ham, Cheese, A plastic cup and Milk.

The materials that we needed was:

One bowl, A whisk, Measuring cup and Muffin treys.

First you will have to turn you oven temperature to 200 then you will need to grab your pastry and use the plastic cup to cut circle and but it in the muffin treys.

Brake the eggs and but them into a bowl then add milk and mix it together after your finished bore it in the measuring cup.

Cut the ham into small sizes and but it in the muffin treys with the pastry (make sure its all even) and add some cheese (make sure its all even).

Add the mixed eggs and milk to the muffin treys (not to mush) then but it in the oven for about 20-30 minutes.

Now it will be all done and ready to eat =)

At kiwi can our topic for this term our theme is integrity. We learnt that Accountability means to take responsibility for our own actions and to own up for the things that we have done so no one else takes the blame.
