Netball - Kanye

On the 26/9/18, four Panmure Bridge Netball teams wet down to the Glen Innes netball courts with 57 other schools, We played six games and only won one game well tying another the rest of the games that we played we lost. The team that I was in was the purple team the weather was a little pit messy but I think we all enjoyed the day there. I will like to thank Mr Ogilvie for all of the practices that we have done and organising this event for us.

Label Finding - Kanye

For reading we have been given two books to label in groups of two. We have had to pick one page to find as many things as we could, Me and my group had worked on the one the right, we have found seven things that we have labelled and had took a photo of it. The other one was with the other group and they had worked on it founding six things that they could label as a group.

History Of The Panmure Bridge

The Panmure Bridge was not always there at first, There was a punt that people had to pay 3 pennies just so they can get across the tamaki river. The punt was used by pulling yourself across the river because there was never a bridge to get over the tamaki river at the time.

The first Panmure Bridge was built between 1864 - 1865, Mr WR Collet designed the first Panmure Bridge but people were only able to walk across the bridge so that it won't break, But fortunately the bridge didn’t last long there was problems with the bridge so it was broken down and replaced with the second Panmure Bridge

The second Panmure Bridge was an even stronger bridge that was built out of stone in 1916, One of the people that had helped or took leadership of the bridge had driven a tractor across to show all of the people how strong the bridge was, Then all of a sudden the side of the bridge slowly started to crumble and fall apart, There was complaints about the bridges safety and was unable to be used until it was fixed or replaced, That's when they had to build the third and last Panmure Bridge

The third Panmure Bridge was built in 1959 and is still standing till this day, This bridge is strong enough to hold six tones and is still in perfect condition from 1959 - 2018, The bridge is now used by hundreds of people and is now free to cross when ever you won’t to.

A lot of things has happened over these years but the Panmure Bridges past still remains unforgotten and as a piece of history waiting to be told.  A lot of people had fighted so hard for this bridge to be built and has now become a gateway from Panmure to Pakuranga/Howick.

Bridge building

Today for inquiry we have finally put our bridges to the test this is a photo of me and my group with the bridge that we have created to take this test head on but sadly the bridge that we have made only could hold 2 bricks it wasn't what we were hoping  but 2 bricks is good enough. The bridge that could carry the most bricks had up to 8 bricks so congratulations to the group that had the mush bricks. We have been working and studding about this for a long time and we've also learned heaps about bridges and what types of bridges are more stronger. The strongest shape of them all is a triangle, why? because a triangle has three sides meeting at an angle, so when you add pressure to a triangle all of the pressure gets spread around.

Number To The Power Of The Number

For maths we have been learning about Exponents (Powers) these are three examples that I have solved and chosen to show what Exponents (Powers) looks like and what it can add up to.
Eg. 7 to the power of 3 will be 7x three times so (7 x 7 x 7 =)  once you find out what 7 x 7 = (49) then you'll have to use the other 7x and times that with the 49 so (49 x 7 = 343)

Trip To The Sky Tower - Kanye

Today at Panmure Bridge School the years 3/8 had token a trip to go and see the Sky Tower. We went there because our Topic for this term is about Stretchers, The Sky Tower took 2 years and 9 months to build the Sky Towers opening was on the 3 August 1997 they say that even if there was a earthquake the strength of the tower will support the tower and it won't fall over. Panmure Bridge School will like to thank Mr Johnston for letting us take place in this event, Mr Dobson for helping us and for being a parent helper, And Douglas Bates for donating us the money so that we can go on this trip.

In reading we have been labelling all of the things that will be shown on a page of a book. We have so far looked at two pages  one with our teacher and the other on our own and we have tried to find all of the things that will be on a page of a book.

Rugby Union - Kanye

On Wednesday 6/8/18 we went to a rugby union inter school our school (Panmure Bridge) came second out of 7 schools we lost our first game against Point England the score was 3-1, Our second game was against Glen Innes we won against them by 4-3 the third school that we played was Saint Pius the score was 11-2, The second to last school that we played was Point England's mixed team we won by 4-2, The last game that we won was against Balley Rode the score was 4-1 it was rely fun and exorcising but it was good for us.

The worst/Best thing that has ever happened to me - Kanye

The worst thing that had happened to me is when my Nan died and on the same day we buried my
nan, was the same day that my friend had died in a car accident then 4 days latter my other friend
committed suicide. It’s been hard to remain happy cause of all the things that happened in the
past but I gotta accept the fact that there in a better place other than having to keep on putting
up with all of the hard and depressing things that this world has to offer. The best thing that has
ever happened to me was meeting someone very special that I wanted to be apart of my life but
life doesn't go as planned so we went our separate ways and I through that doing that would be for
the best of us we don't see each other at all anymore but even till this day I’ll always remember the
things that we did together.
